“My father, James Gonzales, has been in the pawn industry since 1991. That covers more than my entire life, it is the only thing I ever remember my Dad doing. Like many others, I have shared family time such as dinner, vacation, school functions and many other events that I could continue to list either listening to him talk about the pawn business or watching him make decisions and handling issues that affect his shops. Currently he works for Money Mart Pawn as do a few of my uncles and cousins.

Pawnshop serve the needs of the community by benefiting everyone regardless of financial circumstances, Pawnshops offer loans to individuals that do not have bank accounts or cannot get a loan from a bank either because of ineligibility or the dollar amount is lower than the banks minimum loan amount. They provide loans based on collateral starting as low as $5 and can go as high as in the thousands.

Pawnshops never check your credit report or report to any credit bureaus. They also never take action against you if you cannot pay the loan back. Their goal is to reunite the collateral offered for the loan, back to the customer and will work with you in order to achieve this goal. Pawnshops are also State and/or locally regulated, usually by the same agencies that regulate banks and finance companies. If ou get a loan from a pawnshop, you can be assured that you are protected.

Pawnshops help people more that what some would think. Whether if it is borrowing $100 to get through next payday or borrowing to supplement bills or rent, pawnshops are there for the community in ways other financial instructions cannot.”
